Miftah Maulana Habiburrahman alias Gus Miftah admitted that he had no relationship with presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto.
He said this in response to accusations that he had helped Prabowo by distributing money to residents in Pamekasan, Madura.
“Earlier Bawaslu (Pamekasan) asked me what my relationship was with Pak Prabowo, it was HTS, a relationship without status,” he said at the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School, Sleman, DIY, Monday (8/1).
He admitted that he was not a member of the National Campaign Team or the Prabowo-Gibran Regional Campaign Team in the 2024 presidential election.
Gus Miftah also conveyed this to Bawaslu Pamekasan when being questioned regarding allegations of money politics.
He felt he could not be investigated because he was not part of Prabowo’s winning team. According to Gus Miftah, members of the winning team could be investigated if they carried out money politics, while he was not a member
“There are laws that can be (acted upon) by candidates, TKN, TKD, apart from that, there aren’t any. And that’s not my position,” he said.
Gus Miftah also touched on the assignment letter that Prabowo had given during the 11th anniversary of the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School on September 8 2023.
He claimed that the letter was given as a mandate from Prabowo to Gus Miftah to stay in touch with ulama, habibs, community leaders and all Indonesian people to ask for blessings and support in the 2024 presidential election.
Gus Miftah denied that the letter contained instructions to carry out a campaign as alleged against him.
“There is no (connection between the letter and the distribution of money). Moreover, yesterday there was an allegation from another candidate pair that Gus Miftah was distributing money. There was a letter of assignment from Pak Prabowo, wow, where did that come from, just try to show it if it exists,” he said.
However, he will accept whatever results come from Bawaslu Pamekasan’s examination and study regarding the video of him giving out money.
From the start of this video going viral, said Gus Miftah, he had also stated that he was willing and ready to be examined by Bawaslu.
“So I will accept whatever Bawaslu results are,” he stressed.
