Secretary General (Secretary General) of the Party Gerindra Ahmad Muzani said the General Chairperson Prabowo Subianto will meet PKB chairman Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin to decide on the figure of the candidate for the Greater Indonesia Coalition.
The Greater Indonesia Coalition is the coalition discussed by Gerindra and PKB for the 2024 presidential election. However, Muzani has not revealed when the meeting will take place.
“Pak Prabowo and Pak Muhaimin will meet in due course to decide on the names of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates,” said Muzani at the parliament complex, Wednesday (8/2).

According to Muzani, even though his party has given a mandate to Prabowo as Gerindra’s presidential candidate, discussions on the coalition presidential candidate must still be decided together.
He said Prabowo had met privately with Cak Imin about the results of the Ijtima Ulama which also gave a mandate to Cak Imin to run in 2024. The meeting was held the day before the inauguration of the Joint Secretariat (Sekber) of the coalition of the two parties on January 23.
“Mr. Muhaimin explained the results of the ijtima of the Ulama who hoped that Mr. Muhaimin would run as a candidate for president or vice president whose decision was taken before the month of Ramadan,” said Muzani.
According to him, Prabowo is currently still considering the outcome of the meeting. The deputy chairman of the MPR emphasized that the presidential and vice presidential candidates from the Greater Indonesia Coalition would be decided together.
“As of today it has not been decided, of course he must continue to make calculations,” said Muzani.
“We will not make important decisions about presidential and vice-presidential candidates, which will be put forward by the coalition between Gerindra and PKB without Pak Muhaimin’s approval,” he said again.
