Prabowo Subianto Supports Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s Continuance in PDI-P

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Prospective presidential candidate (bacapres) for the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Prabowo Subianto wants Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka to remain in PDI-P.

He admitted that he did not question that Gibran, who he had chosen as his vice presidential candidate (bacawapres), remained a cadre of the bull party.

“We consider all parties to be comrades in arms, both children of the Indonesian nation, so there is no problem. “We would be happy if he (Gibran) remained a PDI-P cadre,” said Prabowo at the Djakarta Theater, Jakarta, Tuesday (24/10/2023).

However, he said he had not received any information regarding Gibran’s decision to finally leave PDI-P.

“I myself am not clear whether he came out or not. “For us, there is no problem,” he said.

On the other hand, Prabowo asked no party to corner Gibran by considering dynastic politics as a negative phenomenon.

According to him, dynastic politics is commonplace in Indonesia and occurs in all political parties (political parties), including PDI-P.

“If we are honest, you see in all parties, including PDI-P, there are political dynasties and that is not negative,” he said.

In his view, there is nothing wrong with dynastic politics because it means there are families who choose to serve Indonesia.

“Families who want to serve their country and nation, what’s wrong with that? “Don’t politicize it,” he added.

It is known that PDI-P has not yet issued a decision regarding Gibran’s status as a cadre.

However, PDI-P presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo said that President Joko Widodo’s eldest son was not on the list of members of the National Winning Team (TPN).

Meanwhile, Gibran himself admitted that he was ready to face the consequences if the PDI-P were to be sanctioned for running as Prabowo’s vice presidential candidate.

The reason is, currently the PDI-P coalition axis has nominated Ganjar and the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).
