Prospective presidential candidate (capres) from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Prabowo Subianto feels increasingly given positive energy after receiving support and prayers from kiai and ulama religious figures from the Mataraman area, East Java.
“We have been here (Tebuireng) many times. We have had dialogue, received suggestions and input from the kiai within the framework of the public and national struggle,” said Prabowo in a written statement, Saturday (11/11/2023).
Prabowo said this after a closed meeting with kiai in Tebuireng.
When asked about support from the kiai, Prabowo gave his response.
“We have known him and been close to the kiai for decades. His support and prayers are really positive energy in this struggle,” he answered.
Meanwhile, Secretary of the National Campaign Team (TKN) Nusron Wahid believes that with the overwhelming support from kiai and ulama from various levels, including Islamic boarding school administrators and NU ulama throughout Mataraman, Prabowo-Gibran’s victory is in sight.
“Friends, you can see for yourself what kind of support the kiai and levels of society have. Various issues and slander will not work. We are confident that with this support we are optimistic and hope that the election can last in just one round with Prabowo-Gibran winning,” he said.
Nusron is optimistic that support for Prabowo-Gibran will become more widespread, even though they have been hit by various issues and slander.
“We are sure that the people will prove it. If you look at the trend, it continues to rise. We will face all the slander and attacks with a smile. God willing, we pray that on February 14 2024 Pak Prabowo will become the elected president,” said Nusron.
