Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto offending nations that teach human rights (HAM), but instead remain silent when addressing the women and children who died as a result of Israeli military aggression in Gaza.
He conveyed this during a scientific oration at the Graduation Ceremony of the National University of the Republic of Indonesia in Bandung, West Java. However, Prabowo did not mention the nations in question.
“There are always certain nations teach we have human rights, human rights, human rights, democracy, but in Gaza thousands of children, thousands of mothers are massacred, killed, bombed, they are silent. “They said it was not a human rights violation,” said Prabowo, as reported by Antara, Thursday (29/2).
He then argued that Indonesia is often too amazed by the many things taught by other countries, so it is not confident in determining its attitude.
For this reason, Prabowo emphasized the importance of the young generation because Indonesia needs young people who are strong, intelligent and intelligent in order to become an independent country and not depend on other nations.
“Sometimes what is said by certain countries, we just go ahead. In fact, I say the lessons of history teach that each nation will only prioritize its own interests,” he said.
“We need smart, intelligent young people as potential leaders. In the near future, you could become leaders,” he said.
He also asked the younger generation to be actively involved in developing the country with a sense of love for the country. According to him, individuals who truly love their homeland will not have the courage to get involved in acts of corruption.
“Be a leader who loves the people, loves the country, must be creative and innovative. Seek wealth not by robbing the people’s money,” said Prabowo.
