Prabowo Gibran’s TKN Secretary, Nusron Wahid, distributed 300 free electric rickshaws to rickshaw drivers who are members of the Madiun Becak Association and surrounding areas in Gulun Square, Madiun City, East Java.
The distribution of these 300 pedicabs is part of the launch of the first Prabowo Electric Becak (Cakpro) in Indonesia, which will be a modern energy-saving and environmentally friendly solution for traditional Indonesian transportation.
“The distribution of electric trishaws is proof of Pak Prabowo’s commitment to caring about the work spirit of family breadwinners, such as pedicab drivers, little marhaenis, so that their dignity and welfare are raised.” said Nusron in his statement, Monday (29/1/2024).
“With this electric rickshaw, gentlemen, your legs and knees will no longer get tired and ache. Because the rickshaw is automatic,” he continued.
Nusron also explained that Prabowo’s Electric Becak also proves that efforts to improve the economy of small people can still be carried out while remaining environmentally friendly.
“The profession of rickshaw pulling must continue to exist because it also reflects the uniqueness of Indonesia. However, improving welfare still takes into account environmental sustainability.” emphasized Nusron Wahid.
“Because there are also rickshaws that use motorbikes, but they contain fossil fuels. It’s not a green economy. Electric rickshaws don’t have fossil energy. They can support decarbonization in line with the Indonesian government’s commitment to zero emissions.” he continued.
Nusron also said that Prabowo’s Becak or Cakpro was one of Prabowo Gibran’s efforts so that technological developments could truly be enjoyed by ordinary people.
“By continuously improving technological downstreaming and research, Indonesia will accelerate the absorption of technology. And Prabowo Gibran is committed to ensuring that the benefits of technology are enjoyed by all groups, including small people such as rickshaw pullers.” concluded Nusron.
