PR defends reinforcement of bilateral cooperation with Cuba – Jornal OPaís

The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, defended this Monday, in Luanda, the strengthening of bilateral cooperation with Cuba, giving it a new paradigm in which it should focus on high-level specialized exchange in critical areas of knowledge.

The Angolan Head of State was speaking at the opening of official talks between delegations from Angola and Cuba, as part of a visit to the country by his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.

“We are very pleased with this great result of our bilateral cooperation and, therefore, we must maintain it, giving it a new paradigm in which we must focus on high-level specialized exchange in critical areas of knowledge, for what we count on, once again, with your unselfish cooperation and solidarity”, he said.

João Lourenço highlighted the role of Cuban health professionals, who for a considerable period ensured the operation of hospital units at all levels and throughout the national territory, while the country trained its staff in Angola, Cuba and in several European countries .

He referred that Angola and Cuba developed, in just over four decades of bilateral relations, a wide range of actions, with emphasis on those carried out in the sectors of Health, Education and Higher Education, Defence, Tourism, Transport, Sport, Commerce and Industry.
