PPP to Ask Ganjar Pranowo About Taj Yasin’s Resignation from Deputy Governor Seat

Secretary General of the United Development Party (PPP) Arwani Thomafi will ask directly to the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo regarding the decision of the cadre, Taj Yasin Maimoen who submitted his resignation as Deputy Governor of Central Java.

Taj Yasin resigned after deciding to run as a candidate for a member of the Indonesian Regional Representative Council (DPD).

He plans to ask Ganjar directly about Taj Yasin’s decision while attending an event in Rembang, Central Java, Saturday (13/5).

“Tomorrow there will be an event in Rembang. There will also be the governor, tomorrow we will also ask the governor about it, to Mr Ganjar. Tomorrow in Rembang. There is an invitation to the event from the PBNU chairman,” said Arwani at the KPU office, Jakarta, Friday (12 /5).

Arwani said that it was reported that Ganjar would attend tomorrow’s event. He also hopes that Taj Yasin will also be present so he can ask the person concerned.

“Hopefully Gus Yasin will attend and be able to meet. And we ask about his withdrawal from participating in the DPD elections,” he said.

However, Arwani respects Taj Yasin’s move when he submits his resignation from the deputy governor seat to run as a candidate for DPD member.

He admitted that he had not received his resignation letter as deputy governor until now because he had just learned the news from the mass media.

“We haven’t received it yet. We just found out from the media and some friends in Semarang. Next, we will follow the steps according to the mechanism,” he said.

Taj Yasin submitted a letter of resignation as Deputy Governor of Central Java after registering as a DPD candidate.

Taj Yasin said his resignation was done according to the rules. The decision on the resignation letter was submitted to the KPU before the final list of candidates (DCT) was determined on November 3, 2023.

“When submitting it, he submitted a letter of resignation which was received by his immediate supervisor. The decree on dismissal was received by the KPU before the final list of candidates was November 3. It is still being processed,” he said at the Central Java KPU office, Thursday (11/5).
