The country has sufficient stock of rice.

The Ministry in charge of Trade and Consumption is strengthening the control systems for the markets of basic necessities in Madagascar. “The checks are carried out both on the prices and the quality of the products”,nnounces the ministry whose teams are deployed in all regions of the country. Especially in areas affected by bad weather. The control campaign carried out by the MICC is visibly bearing fruit since prices have stabilized. This is the case, particularly in Ihorombe, Ihosy or even Ivohibe where the kilo of imported rice is sold at 700 ariary, edible oil between 6,600 ar and 7,500 ariary for bulk and 10,000 to 13,000 ariary if it is is in a sealed container. In addition, the daily supplies of grocery stores are continuing in the capital and its surroundings. It should also be noted that the MICC has made arrangements for the transport of PPNs to Toliara during the presidential tour which began on Saturday and continues today.
