PPKM Relaxed, Here Are the Conditions for Riding a Long-Distance Train Starting Today

Jakarta

The government decided to extend the implementation PPKM Java Bali and outside Java Island with a number of loosened rules. PPKM has been extended from today until August 2, 2021, in the future.

Then what are the rules for taking long-distance trains (KAJJ) and local trains?

KAI’s VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said that starting today, July 26, 2021, KAJJ customers on the islands of Java and Sumatra are required to show a certificate of negative RT-PCR test results a maximum of 2×24 hours or a rapid antigen test a maximum of 1×24 hours before departure.

“Especially for long-distance train trips on the island of Java, customers are also required to show a vaccine card for at least the first dose of Covid-19 vaccination,” Joni said in a written statement, Sunday (25/7/2021).

Joni said that KAJJ customers who have not or have not been vaccinated for medical reasons can still use KAJJ. This train customer must show a certificate from a specialist doctor and be accompanied by a negative RT-PCR or rapid antigen test that is still valid.

“Customers under the age of 18 are not required to show a vaccine card. Customers under the age of 5 are not required to show the results of the RT-PCR or rapid antigen test,” he said.

Furthermore, Joni explained that local train travel only applies to essential sector offices and critical sectors. Prospective passengers who work in the 2 categories must bring a worker registration certificate (STRP) or other certificate issued by the local regional government or a letter of assignment from the company leadership.

“Local train customers are not required to show a vaccine card and a certificate of negative results from the RT-PCR test or rapid antigen test. However, random rapid antigen tests will be carried out to customers at the station,” he said.

Joni emphasized that customers who do not meet the requirements will not be allowed to travel. For tickets, he ensures that he will be refunded 100% if passengers are not allowed to travel because they do not meet the requirements.

“KAI fully supports all government policies during the pandemic to suppress the spread of Covid-19,” he concluded.
