PPKM extended, the whole Indonesian territory remains at level 1

Jakarta

The government again extends the implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) level 1 throughout Indonesia. For PPKM Java and Bali, this rule is valid until November 21st.

“Today we communicate that the PPKM will continue to be extended to suppress the rate of increase of COVID-19,” said Adwil Adwil Director General at the Interior Ministry, Safrizal, in a statement received. detik.comTuesday (8/11/2022).

The government continues to enact a policy to extend implementation of PPKM Level 1 to all regions of Indonesia through 2022 Minister of Internal Affairs number 47 for PPKM Java and Bali, valid from 8 to 21 November 2022.

Meanwhile, in areas outside of Java and Bali, all regions also apply PPKM level 1 according to the 2022 Minister of Internal Affairs number 48. PPKM outside Java and Bali will be valid until 5 December 2022.

Safrizal explained that the government still had to make an extension decision PPKM to contain the rate of increase of COVID-19. The government has stated that the PPKM policy will continue to be implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Syafrizal said the Omicron XBB sub-variant would be one of the causes of the increase in the number of active cases in Indonesia. However, several experts have stated that the distribution of the Omicron XBB sub-variant in Indonesia is still relatively low.

So, he added, there is a suspicion that the increase in active COVID-19 cases is due to a lack of public awareness of the implementation of health protocols in the community.

“We ask all levels of local government not to be negligent and to continue to beware of the threat of a spike in cases. Promote the implementation of health protocols in the community, maximize the use of the PeduliLindung application and not least is keep pushing for the third dose / booster vaccination, ”Safrizal added.

Syafrizal said the appeal is in line with the Ministry of Health that the application of disciplined health protocols and booster / third dose vaccinations have become a powerful weapon for the community to protect itself from the threat of the Omicron XBB sub-variant. .
