The PPKM announcement today, Monday (20/9/2021) was delivered through a virtual press conference attended by Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin. The government revealed that the Java Bali PPKM was extended for the next 2 weeks.

Luhut conveyed good news regarding the Corona pandemic in Indonesia. Corona reproduction numbers continue to show a decline. This means that the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia is under control.

Luhut said that the PPKM level changes to once every 2 weeks. However, the PPKM evaluation is still carried out every week. The government asks the public to remain disciplined in obeying health protocols.

“In the direction given by the President in today’s meeting, it was decided that by looking at the existing developments, the PPKM level changes were enforced for 2 weeks for Java-Bali, but evaluations were still carried out every week to anticipate changes that occurred so quickly,” said Luhut Monday. 20/9/2021)

One of the PPKM announcements today is a trial of the latest requirements to malls. Now, children under 12 years old are allowed to enter the mall.

“There will be a trial of opening a shopping center for children under the age of 12 with parental supervision and assistance,” Luhut said at a press conference.

However, this new rule is still limited. Not all regions can enforce this rule. There are only 5 cities that have been tested to allow children under 12 years old to enter Malls. The cities are Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, DIY and Surabaya.

PPKM Announcement Today: Cinema Entrance Requirements

Luhut revealed that cinemas were allowed to open in areas with PPKM levels 3 and 2. Visitors’ capacity was still limited to a maximum of 50 percent.

Initially only green status, now visitors with a yellow status in the Peduli Protect application are also allowed to enter the cinema. The yellow status in Peduli Protect means that visitors have received 1 dose of vaccine.

“The yellow and green categories can enter the cinema area, which used to be only green, now we can enter with yellow,” said Luhut
