“It’s a nominally large number, but it needs to be seen in context. Last year’s profit for the entire PPF was one billion euros, and we have earned about four billion euros in the last five years. The essence lies in the fact that all this money remains in the group, it is not lost anywhere, “commented the results of PPF’s financial director Kateřina Jirásková some time ago.
The group’s total assets decreased by five billion euros to 44 billion euros (1.18 trillion crowns) year-on-year.
PPF’s portfolio includes Home Credit, PPF banka, Air Bank and Zonky, ClearBank (banking), Cetin, O2, Telenor CEE (telecommunications), CME (media), PPF Real Estate Holding (reality), Sotio, Cytune Pharma, Autolus Therapeutics ( biotechnology), Škoda Transportation and Temsa (transport engineering), Mall Group and Heureka (e-commerce), PPF Life Insurance (insurance), PPF Art (activities in the field of culture and art) or Bestsport (owner of the Prague O2 arena and O2 universum) . The group also includes the CzechToll company, a toll operator in the Czech Republic.
PPF Group invests in a number of industries from financial services to telecommunications, media, biotechnology, real estate to engineering.
It operates in Europe, Asia and North America, and employs 98,000 people worldwide. At the end of June this year, PPF companies in the Czech Republic registered approximately 14,000 employees. The balance sheet total of the PPF Group at the end of last year was 48.6 billion euros, which is a very similar figure to the revenues of the Czech state budget.
