Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Center for Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis (PPATK) has opened its voice regarding the donation of the family of the late Akidi Tio which reached Rp 2 trillion to help deal with Covid-19.
Not long ago, the family figure of a businessman from Aceh, the late (late) Akidi Tio, was indeed busy becoming a public conversation after providing assistance with fantastic value.
Assistance was given through a private channel to the South Sumatra Police Chief, Inspector General Eko Indra Heri, on Monday (26/7/2021), who was a close associate of the late Akidi Tio.
Head of PPATK Dian Ediana Rae said that such donations should have been coordinated with PPATK before publishing this social action.
“In the future, handling donations like this should first coordinate with PPATK before publishing such donations, we can check first to ensure the credibility of each potential donor and avoid speculation in the community,” he told CNBC Indonesia, Monday (2 /8).
“I’m afraid that if it can’t be realized, it can actually harm the good name of the people/institutions involved or the government. Hopefully, it can be realized,” he said.
Previously, MPR Chairman Bambang Soesatyo in his Instagram @bambang.soesatyo had told the figure of businessman Akidi Tio. He told of the late entrepreneur who started a soy sauce business and eventually owned a soy sauce factory in Palembang.
In addition, Akidi Tio also has a temple in 10 Ulu and several places in Palembang. Bamsoet also revealed that Akidi owns the Cipta Futura company in Muara Enim.
“Akidi Tio is also a dolomite mining entrepreneur, which is a fertilizer maker,” he said.
Akidi is said to have sworn an oath to his family named Thong Ju, a wealthy Palembang Chinese in the era of President Soekarno. Bamsoet said Akidi promised that if he became rich, he would contribute to the people of Palembang
“This is proven, his promise (was fulfilled) through the will of his grandchildren,” he explained.
Not only that, Akidi Tio also often donates large sums in South Sumatra and in several parts of Indonesia to orphanages for orphans, the disabled and the blind.
Previously, the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises for the period of October 2011-October 2014, Dahlan Iskan, said that what the businessman’s family did was “NOT PLAY” in his article. Dahlan deliberately uses capital letters because he wants to describe how impressed he is with what the businessman’s family is doing.
“That’s all I can write. How come someone donated Rp 2 trillion. The person has never been known. It has been a long time since he died,” said the founder of Jawa Pos, in his column on the Disway.id website, quoted by CNBC Indonesia.
But in essence, Dahlan considered that behind the name of the deceased who was rarely mentioned by the public, what Tio’s family did was an extraordinary act and reflected humility.
“This means that this businessman is extremely humble. Low profile, high profit. And that is a lot like that in the Chinese community. I have many Chinese friends like that. Everyday I only wear sandals. normal. His name is never mentioned anywhere. But the money is extraordinary. I am ashamed to wear nice clothes in front of them, “said Dahlan.
