Vice President Maruf Amin responded to reports PPATK related to allegations of misappropriation of Cianjur disaster relief funds for activities related to terrorism and personal interests. Ma’ruf Amin asked law enforcement officials to supervise and take action in this regard.
“Now, of course, prevention. Don’t let it happen in the future,” said Maruf Amin when answering journalists’ questions in Cianjur, West Java (West Java), Sunday (19/2/2023).
Maruf Amin stressed that action would be taken against the perpetrators of misappropriation of disaster aid funds.
“Second, law enforcement is carried out, discipline is carried out, which is already this. I think that later all security forces will detect it so that it does not happen again in the future and we have already taken measures,” said Maruf Amin.
This statement was made by Maruf Amin after attending the Isra Miraj Commemoration and istigasah kubro which was held in Cianjur, West Java, Sunday (19/2/2023) morning. The event was also attended by KSAD General TNI Dudung Abdurrahman, Deputy Governor of West Java, Deputy Governor of West Java, and Regent of Cianjur Herman Suherman.
“Today I am present in Cianjur as part of the kubro istigasah and commemoration of Isra Mikraj, which is organized by the ulama assembly together with the army. I think this is in the framework of building friendships, strengthening faith, but also building the spirit of the nation, so that Cianjur will never experience a disaster so that they don’t give up, they have the spirit and they still have the spirit to return as a nation,” Maruf Amin told reporters.
“Well, I think that on the one hand, and secondly, the collaboration between the ulema and umaro is important in this country. Two important elements and here the army takes a role in order to set an example to the community, that indeed the ulema and umaro must help each other. , and that is the key to our success in order to maintain stability,” he added.
PPATK Reports Alleged Misappropriation of Cianjur Earthquake Aid Funds
Previously reported, the Center for Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis (PPATK) reported allegations of misappropriation in fundraising activities for earthquake victims in Cianjur.
This was conveyed by the Head PPATK Ivan Yustiavandana in the Working Meeting of Commission III DPR RI with PPATK. He said this case was related to the crime of embezzlement of money (TPPU) by the foundation.
“Regarding foundations, we finally found the one in Cianjur related to activities suspected of being involved in terrorism,” said Ivan in a meeting with Commission III of the Indonesian Parliament, Tuesday (14/2).
