There were no surprises in Antequera and Manuel Barón revalidated the absolute majority with which it has up to now in the Antequera City Council, conserving for the Popular Party the government of one of the key cities in the province and, especially, the interior. The popular ones obtained a resounding victory and will go from 11 to 14 councilors in the Corporation, achieving 59.46% of the votes.
For his part, he PSOE got 6 councilors with 28.76% of the votes cast, while Con Antequera IU obtained only one councilor, thus losing one of the councilors it had up to now, while Vox did not achieve the minimum 5% to obtain representation.
The mayor and candidate of the PP, Manuel Barón, thanked the people of Antequera for the result achieved, pointing out that “you have given us more councilors than ever in this city”, some words that were responded with euphoria by the sympathizers and militants who went to the headquarters of the popular to celebrate the victory that represents the fourth absolute majority of the PP in Antequera.
“This result will not go to our heads“, Barón said before militants and supporters, while promising to continue fighting with the same force for the city. A few words that occurred while he was received at the headquarters shouting “champions, champions” and “mayor, mayor” .
The popular ones focused the campaign on consolidating and expanding the logistics sector in the city, continuing to bet on tourism and entering fully into attracting investors who can build homes in the city to achieve the objective of exceeding the 50,000 inhabitants within 15 years.
