It has been a bittersweet victory in which the popular have lost about 4 percentage points compared to the last municipal elections, remaining in the 40.07% of the votescompared to the 44.47% that they achieved in the last elections and that earned them to govern alone.

The big winners of the night have been the formation 100% Alhaurinthe former Socialist Alternative, which with 2,591 votes has become the second force in the Consistory, going from 4 to 6 councillors.

Meanwhile, the PSOE it becomes the third force in the municipality with 3 councilors, losing one with respect to the last elections.

For its part, the left-wing coalition with Andalusia It maintains its two councilors, although it loses votes and remains at 833 compared to the 1,113 obtained by running as Adelante.

In addition, in the Corporation he also manages to enter Vox with a councilor, something that had not been achieved so far, and that is that the formation of Santiago Abascal had been a long way from achieving it in the last elections.

The PP recovered the Mayor’s Office in 2019

In the 2019 municipal elections, the popular leader Antonia Ledesma he recovered the mayoralty of Alhaurín el Grande by obtaining a total of 4,323 votes (more than 44% of the total support). These figures gave him 11 councilors, that is, the absolute majority. The PP thus returned to position itself as the force with the most votes in the municipality after the party created by Martín Serón, Por Alhaurín, was in 2015 after his departure from the PP (which left the popular with only one mayor and 757 votes in 2015).

The circumstance arose that, with this result, the PP seized power from the mayoress Teresa Sánchez, of the United Leftwho took office two weeks before the elections, following the court ruling that forced the Plenary to vote on a motion of censure presented two years earlier.

The rest of the municipal arch is made up of the four PSOE councilors, formation that has obtained 1,791 votes; the four from Alternativa Socialista de Alhaurín and the two from Adelante Alhaurín. Both Ciudadanos and Vox, who had 436 and 206 supports respectively, were left without representation in plenary.

Refering to stake, in the 2019 elections the voters dropped by one point. In total, 9,848 of the 15,600 inhabitants called to the polls were those who wanted to participate in this process.
