There will probably not be such a large Euro-Atlantic majority in the next parliament. Delyan Dobrev from GERB made such a prediction to the BNR.
“The support for Vazrazhdane and BSP will probably increase. They play in sync against the Euro. This protects the Russian interest,” he said.
Breaking with Russian dependencies is not the reason this parliament has a short life, Dobrev believes. However, he doubts the Euro-Atlantic orientation of the PP.
“The PP are not pursuing real Euro-Atlantic causes, they have simply disguised themselves as such. Rather, we may see them working with the BSP and “Vazrazhdane” to delay the adoption of the euro in Bulgaria,” he pointed out.
There are three laws necessary for the Eurozone that we have not adopted, Dobrev reminded.
“The law against money laundering was shamed by the PP. DB do not talk about him. Maybe it threatens some interests related to PP”, Dobrev believes.
Delyan Dobrev also commented on the presence of Vladislav Goranov in the list drawn up under the “Magnitsky” law.
“When Goranov was finance minister, we entered the waiting room of the euro zone and the banking union. If it were not for the PP, at the beginning of this year, together with Croatia, we would have become a member of the Eurozone. DB and PP are behaving improperly at the moment and are extracting political dividends from this situation. Vladislav Goranov left all party posts already in the summer of 2020,” Dobrev recalled.
I and my colleagues from GERB are the initiators of the important energy decisions taken by this parliament, Dobrev reminded.
“This is the nuclear fuel diversification solution. We obliged the US to stop buying nuclear fuel from the Russians. For the 5th unit, it was decided to buy American fuel. For the 6th block we will buy French fuel. These are the important decisions in energy and they have been taken. Another important decision is the construction of the 7th and 8th blocks. After the start of the war, it is impossible to have Russian equipment there. That was voted on,” he said.
Gas in the Black Sea can lead to energy independence, Delyan Dobrev also explained.
