PP-DB will support the GERB-SDS candidate Rosen Zhelyazkov for Speaker of the Parliament.
Desislava Atanasova from GERB stated this in a joint statement of the two formations in the parliament.
She pointed out that the two formations have agreed that the chairman of the Legal Commission will be from PP-DB.
“The election of the President of the Parliament and the President of the Committee on Legal Affairs can be on a rotating basis, provided that the Parliament works for more than 3 months. We appeal to this constructive tone and dialogue to continue so that a regular government is announced,” added Atanasova.
Nikolay Denkov stated that the talks that are taking place at the moment are only about a legislative program and not about forming a government, which was a matter for party leaders, not working groups.
He pointed out that it is expected that the speaker of the parliament will be elected tomorrow and that regular work can be started.
“The list of draft laws will be proposed as a program of this session of the parliament, and if it works successfully, in three months there will be a rotation of the speaker of the parliament, who will work in sync with the chairman of the Legal Commission,” said Denkov.
