PP-DB entered into an absentee dispute with GERB-SDS when the meeting will take place with Maria Gabriel, whom GERB leader Boyko Borisov announced as a potential prime minister on Wednesday.
On Wednesday evening, the coalition “We continue the change” – Democratic Bulgaria” (PP-DB) announced that it will meet the GERB-SDS candidate for Prime Minister Maria Gabriel on Friday. From the press center of GERB – SDS announced in response that they would expect the PP-DB representatives according to the originally announced schedule, i.e. in Thursday.
What did PP-DB announce?
The meeting of the parliamentary group of “Continuing the Change – Democratic Bulgaria” (PP-DB) with Maria Gabriel, nominated for prime minister by GERB-SDS, will take place on Friday. Initially, the meeting was scheduled for tomorrow, but it will be held on Friday, the press center of PP-DB reported. They point out that the change is necessary so that the leaders of “We continue the change” Kiril Petkov and Asen Vassilev can also participate in the meeting.
What did GERB answer?
The press center of GERB replied that the leadership of the PG of GERB – SDS and the candidate for prime minister Maria Gabriel will be waiting for the representatives of the PP-DB tomorrow, (on Thursday – b.a.) at 10:00 a.m. in the “West” hall of the National Assembly.
“As far as we know, the co-chairmen of the PG of PP-DB in Sofia are Nikolay Denkov and Atanas Atanasov, as well as Hristo Ivanov and Vladislav Panev. We expect that 7 parties and 77 NGOs have leaders who are in Bulgaria and can participate in the meeting they originally accepted!’says the announcement from the press center of GERB.
Earlier today, GERB announced that Maria Gabriel, nominated by GERB-SDS for Prime Minister, will meet tomorrow with representatives of the political forces in the National Assembly. It is expected that during the talks, the topics affecting the society’s agenda and the possibility of supporting a government will be discussed. The leadership of the GERB-SDS parliamentary group (PG) will also participate in the meetings, the announcement states.
This morning, the leader of GERB Boyko Borisov announced from the parliamentary rostrum that the current Bulgarian European Commissioner Maria Gabriel will be the candidate of GERB-SDS.
