A large fire broke out today after an oil pipeline ruptured in Ivano-Frankivsk region, western Ukraine, Agence France-Presse reported, citing Ukraine’s national emergency service. According to UNIAN, six people were injured, including two children.

”At 5:54 p.m. (Bulgarian time), near the village of Strimba, in the Nadvirnensky region, an oil pipeline (with a diameter of 150 mm) burst,” the Service announced, specifying that the oil spilled over an area of approx. 100 sq. m. Rescuers were dispatched to the scene.
According to local media, there was a powerful explosion. In pictures published on social networks, thick clouds of black smoke can be seen over a settlement. The place of the fire is hundreds of kilometers from the front line of the battles with the Russian forces in the eastern part of the country, notes AFP.
