It concerns the neighborhood around the Koepelkathedraal in Haarlem, a neighborhood with many older residents and young families. “And now it is completely pitch dark,” a local resident tells NH Nieuws. “Fortunately, we help each other with candles and flashlights. A lady of 93 years old lives opposite, she must be scared to death.”
The residents of the area have taken care of each other and are waiting for the malfunction to be resolved. According to energy supplier Liander, the technicians are on their way and the malfunction was resolved around half past ten this evening.
The power outage has now been resolved. There was a loud cheer from the neighborhood as the lights came back on.
