The winners
The Power of the Dog won the Golden Globe for best drama film, West Side Story by director Steven Spielberg received the prize for the best musical or comedy. Will Smith won the Best Actor in a Drama Film award for his role in King Richard. Nicole Kidman won Best Actress in a Drama Movie for her role in Being the Ricardos, over actress in comedienne Lucille Ball in haar man Desi Arnaz.
The Power of the Dog was nominated a total of seven times and eventually also won in the categories Best Supporting Actor (Kodi Smit-McPhee) and Best Director (Jane Campion). West Side Story also won the awards for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical (Rachel Zegler) and Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy or Musical (Ariana DeBose).
Of movie Belfast, which also took home seven nominations, eventually won one: Best Screenplay.
The HBO series Succession, about a family who owns a global media conglomerate, won the Golden Globe for Best Drama Series. HBO also won in best musical or comedy with the series Hacks. From popular Netflix-serie Squid Game eventually managed to cash in on one of the three nominations: that for best supporting role in a TV series. It went to O Yeong-su.
