What do you do in case of a blackout? This question was addressed in a lecture in Strengberg. In addition, an emergency generator was handed over to the fire brigade.
A lecture on the topic “Blackout: What to do if there is a prolonged power failure?” was held in the Strengberg fire station. The program was organized by the municipality of Strengberg. The speaker Franz Zehetgruber from the Lower Austrian Civil Protection Association provided practical tips for preparing for a blackout. Among other things, he said: “You should think in advance what would happen if the power suddenly went out. You should definitely stock up on food and water and make arrangements with your closest relatives! One of the biggest challenges will be the non-functioning mobile and landline network. The only source of information will then be radio.”
On the same evening, the municipality of Strengberg handed over a subsidized 40 kVA emergency power generator to the FF Strengberg. The FF Thürnbuch will also receive a similar emergency generator in the near future. In the event of a longer blackout, the fire brigades should be a contact point for the population.
After the lecture, some of the emergency power generators on display could be viewed in the fire station, including the oldest and still functional emergency power generator from the FF Strengberg from 1983 with an output of 5 kVA.
