It’s just a few video snippets, but the video is getting people excited on Tiktok. It has been viewed 1.2 million times and shows Frankfurt from its best side.
Frankfurt – “dilsyye” posted a small homage to his presumed favorite city on Tiktok. A short video, composed of various clips and an atmospheric sound, shows beautiful corners of downtown Frankfurt. Above it is “POV: you live in Frankfurt am Main”.

POV videos are very popular on Tiktok. “POV” stands for “Point of View” and is intended to encourage viewers to put themselves in the perspective shown. So the video shows how nice it can be to live in Frankfurt. You can see a ride with the e-scooter on Neue Mainzer Straße, past the theater, at sunset. Then a look back at the Willy-Brandt-Platz with the dominant Eurotower and a short pan over the Euro symbol, which attracts tourists there. Finally, a shot of the Holbeinsteg, the Commerzbank Tower including Goetheplatz and a view of the busy Zeil.

According to the Tiktok figures, the video has already been played 1.2 million times and liked 172,000 times. There are more than 1800 comments. Many users obviously feel addressed and find Frankfurt beautiful. “Love this city too badly,” says one person. “Frankfurt has my heart,” writes another. And even comparisons are made with the metropolis par excellence: “New York can pack up,” writes a Tiktok user.

There are – as always – but also a few haters. “Hamburg is still nicer,” writes a Celina and gets more than 450 likes for it. “Ffm not so cool,” writes another user. Another person reports more balanced: “Frankfurt is actually not that bad, but people only talk about the main station”. This was recently confirmed by a discussion on Reddit. “Why does everyone say that Frankfurt is the worst city in Germany?” asked a user in the discussion forum and received the answer above all about the drug hotspot around the main train station.
But there are also other conclusions online, for example on the question of what is great about Frankfurt. The debate shows what makes Frankfurt endearing. Also on Reddit it has already been discussed whether Offenbach is the ugliest city in Germany.
