Lily of the valley is gold in bloom. In comparison, the Pouilloux lily of the valley march is a royal procession even if it is above all intended to be popular, especially on May 1, Labor Day.
It was therefore a relaxing day on the 5.5 km, 10.5 km and 20 km that the walkers, often coming with family or friends, carried out with undisguised pleasure while the weather, in recent days, suggested that a flood was going to fall on Pouilloux and the surrounding area.
In the end not a single drop of rain disrupted the lily of the valley march organized by the festival committee. As a precaution though, the participants clocked in a little earlier at the start. Around 10 a.m., there were more than 650 on the roads. In total, there were 816 walkers. A great performance. The sprig of lily of the valley brought good luck.
Who says work, says craving, who says craving, says restoration. This year, the organizers, in addition to the refreshment points on the routes, have made the parking lot and the village hall their base camp. It was a good way to hold back those who were hungry and allow the Polliacians to have a bite to eat. In this game, the famous Pouilloux andouillette, of great rarity, was consumed without moderation and appreciated with celebration. One wonders if andouillette will become as popular as lily of the valley on May 1st! Here again, more than 200 meals were served in the courtyard and in the village hall with a slightly more elaborate menu.
