Potsdam and Brandenburg Cinemas Struggle in National Ranking, According to Online Reviews

Potsdam. Brandenburg’s cinemas do not perform particularly well among film fans in a nationwide comparison. After evaluating around 1.2 million online reviews from cinemagoers, the Brandenburg cinemas largely end up in the bottom places. This was the result of an evaluation by the consumer portal Testbericht.de.

The comments from cinemagoers on the websites of around 1,000 cinemas in Germany were compared. The Parklichtkino in Buckow received the best rating in the ranking in Brandenburg. The facility in Märkisch-Oderland came in 35th place. The cinema was praised for its good acoustics as well as the cozy bar and snack offering. The bottom line was 4.8 stars.

There are 37 cinemas from Brandenburg

Nevertheless, the small cinema is far behind. The Apollo Service cinema in Altena, North Rhine-Westphalia, took first place with an average rating of 4.9 points, followed by two cinemas in Lower Saxony: “Das Kino” in Neu Wulmsdorf and the Lichtburg in Quernheim.

37 cinemas from Brandenburg are represented in the ranking. The Capitol in Königs Wusterhausen came in 149th place. It received 4.7 points, as did the Linden cinema in Wusterhausen (196th place). The Thalia Potsdam only made it to number 249 (4.6 stars). This means that these cinemas are rated better than the national average of 4.4 stars.

Above this average in the west of Brandenburg are the Astoria in Wittstock (341st place), the Haveltor in Rathenow (495), the Movie Star in Wittenberge (574), the Hofgarten-Kino in Bad Belzig (532) and the Movie Star in Perleberg (574). The UCI in Potsdam (611) and the film museum in the state capital (635) are just about average. The Scala in Werder (4.3) is no longer there. It is ranked 852nd.

The cinemas in Schwarzheide and Luckenwalde are at the bottom of the list

Cinemagoers rated the Union in Luckenwalde (1069th place) and the Extra Kinowelt in Schwarzheide, which landed in penultimate place 1076 with 3.4 points, as the worst cinemas in Brandenburg. Online comments criticize the uncomfortable seats and the poor quality of the popcorn on offer.
