From the All-Kerala Volleyball Tournament held at Pothupetti
Ambalaballah: Bringing back the memories of a nation to the golden age of volleyball, the excitement of volleyball is back in Pothupati. The All Kerala Floodlit Volleyball Tournament organized by the Independent Arts and Sports Club, Pothucutti, was held amidst a crowd of fans.
The independent cattle team won the competition in which national players participated. Stars filled the field with big hits and impressive saves. Great performances by national players including Ashin Shaju. Volleyball lovers have endlessly supported the positive developments. The passion for handball is again raging in the land of Pothukti, which is fertile for volleyball. The tournament was organized as part of the 60th anniversary celebration of the independent club that has fielded many stars including a national level in the sport of volleyball.
Volleyball lovers came from many places like Kumbaleri, Atdiwaram, Mankunn to witness the five-team tournament. In an exciting competition, Swati Pothuketti’s team defeated Ernad Kuris and became the winners.
First prize winners received Rs 10,001 from Regi Kumbakot in memory of Arakkal Mary and second prize winners received Rs 7001 from Aura Medical Center Sharjah.
Pothuketti volleyball players were felicitated yesterday at the event. The match was played on a high quality court specially prepared for the tournament. The country and its people are happy that the sport that was once the pulse of the country is coming back with more strength.
