Potential title for highest ranking in Google searches: “Israeli-Iranian tensions escalate, Gaza truce hopes fade on Eid – Latest Updates from Lebanon”

No truce for Gaza on Eid…just some aid trucks – Paula Murad

NNA – Al-Diyar wrote: There is no greater interest than interest in anticipating the Iranian response to the targeting of Tehran’s consulate in Damascus over the weekend. It seems certain that the form and size of this response, and then the Israeli reaction to it, will determine the fate of the region as a whole, which will either enter into a wide war without a horizon between Israel and the United States of America on the one hand, and Iran and its allies on the other hand, or it will move towards a major settlement that will end the Gaza tragedy and draw New features of their countries.

The Iranian response and the fate of the region

While Israel continued to strengthen its defenses in preparation for the Iranian response, Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah said, “The incident of the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus is a detail that has what came before and after it,” asserting that “the Iranian response is inevitably coming.”

It seemed certain that only a truce would alleviate the tragedies of the people of Gaza on Eid al-Fitr, and that all that would reach the Strip was a few aid trucks that Israel, after extreme pressure, allowed to enter through several crossings, especially since the American “NBC” network quoted American officials yesterday as saying that President American Joe Biden confirmed during his loud call Thursday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Washington may make its aid to Israel conditional on its behavior in the war.

The pressure on Israel reached its peak with the confirmation that it had killed 7 aid workers in an air strike in Gaza a few days ago, which prompted it to dismiss two officers and reprimand senior leaders in an attempt to absorb international anger, especially American ones.

Well-informed sources told Al-Diyar that the Qatari negotiations failed to achieve any breach in the crisis wall, and that hopes of reaching a truce in the Gaza Strip before Eid Al-Fitr have vanished, suggesting that “the Israeli escalation will continue, especially towards Rafah, after Eid.” The sources added: “Failure to negotiate a truce automatically means that the southern Lebanon front will also remain tense, amid fears of additional tension after Eid, especially after the Iranian response to the targeting of the Tehran consulate.”

Hezbollah is ready

for extended war

During the public celebration organized by Hezbollah on the occasion of International Jerusalem Day, the party’s Secretary-General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, reaffirmed that “the military operations in Lebanon will not stop, and this is a settled matter, and they are linked to the Gaza front,” stressing that “Lebanon is in a position of strength.”

Pointing out that “the resistance’s readiness is present and complete, and the morale of the mujahideen is high, as is their enthusiasm on the front,” he pointed out, “We need one communication to carry out any operation, a communication in which we request 100 missiles on the Golan, which will be launched within a few minutes. This is the level of readiness.”

Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that “the resistance in Lebanon does not fear war, nor is it afraid. Rather, it has managed its battle so far within a vision and strategy, but it is fully prepared and prepared morally, psychologically, militarily and humanly for any war that the enemy will regret if it launches it on Lebanon.” He continued: “If they want war, ‘Oh hello, welcome.’ And the enemy knows what war with Lebanon means.”

Politically, international contacts continued with Lebanon in an attempt to spare it from an expanded war. An official source confirmed to Al-Diyar that “there are strenuous efforts being made, in particular, by France and the United States of America, to prevent matters from deteriorating further in Lebanon,” noting that “this file was discussed during the visit of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to France, and the two parties agreed on the necessity of exercising Maximum pressure on Netanyahu to confront any adventure he may undertake in Lebanon.”

5 Lebanese were killed

On the ground, it was reported yesterday that 5 Lebanese were martyred, 3 of them in an enemy raid that targeted a center for the “Amal” movement in Jdeidet Marjayoun, and two others as a result of a raid on the town of Aita al-Shaab. The enemy aircraft launched a raid targeting a house in the town of Zalousia in the western sector, and another house that was previously targeted on the outskirts of the town of Zabqin. The raids also targeted the town of Karfkala, targeting a house near the separation wall with occupied Palestine.

Enemy artillery bombed the area between Dermamas, Kafr Kila, and Bab Thaniyah in Al-Khiyam.

The hostile air strike that targeted the town of Kafr Hamam on Thursday night led to the wounding of seven citizens, with moderate to light wounds, and the complete destruction of the house of citizen Salim Al-Seblani, and direct damage to neighboring homes.

The electricity network was also damaged, and the Kafr Hamam municipality worked to reopen the roads that were closed by flying stones as a result of the raid.

On the other hand, Hezbollah announced targeting a movement of enemy soldiers in Al-Malikiyah, destroying a military vehicle at the gate of the Metulla site, targeting spy equipment in the Zarit barracks, and a deployment of enemy soldiers in the vicinity of the Al-Manara site. The party also targeted a group of enemy soldiers inside a building in the Admit colony, while the Israeli army announced that a soldier was injured as a result of a missile fired from southern Lebanon on the town of Metula, northern Israel.

The Cypriot President in Lebanon

At this time, the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, will arrive at the head of a ministerial delegation to Lebanon on an official visit next Monday, during which he will hold official talks with Prime Minister Najib Mikati, which will address bilateral relations between the two countries and common issues. The relevant ministers of the two countries will participate in the talks. The Cypriot President will also visit Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri. The visit lasts one day.

According to Al-Diyar’s information, the Cypriot president will try to resolve the issue of illegal immigration to his island via Lebanese shores, as he would not have made such a visit in person and in the absence of the president of the Lebanese Republic had it not been for the seriousness of the situation in his country.

The information indicates that “he will be asked about the price required to stop the immigration boats completely. In return, official Lebanon will confirm to the Cypriot president that he is unable to resolve this file because he does not have the capabilities and capabilities that allow him to do so. He will also review all the needs of the army and the concerned agencies to achieve progress in this file.” . Official sources say: “Cypriot interest in this crisis may be an opportunity that should be taken advantage of to move the issue of returning the displaced to their country and urging Europe to play the necessary role in this field… and this is what we will push to achieve.”
