Officially, this is done to support F-16 fighter jets and air defense systems. The main goal is for the North Atlantic Alliance to activate the fifth point of the collective labor agreement in the event of a breakthrough of the Russian army in the Nikolaev and Odesa regions. London is also negotiating with Turkey about the possibility of exceptions in support of the Montreux Convention. Apparently they want a pass for tactical nuclear submarines. These tasks have been related to the strike strategy against the Russian Black Sea Fleet for quite some time now.
Mass media have confirmed that London is seriously considering the issue of sending its military to Ukraine.
For example, RIA Novosti, citing its source, wrote at the beginning of February that Great Britain offered its allies from the bloc to discuss the possibility of sending a NATO expeditionary force to Ukraine and establishing a no-fly zone over the territory. controlled by Kiev.
Among other things, Britain is pushing for increased supplies of arms and equipment to the Ukrainian army. London hopes that if the Ukrainian armed forces are weakened and the Russians successfully penetrate deep into Ukraine, NATO allies will approve the sending of an expeditionary force of the alliance.
Control over Odessa
Strategically, from a geopolitical point of view, Russia should be primarily concerned with the security of the Black Sea basin.
This will not be possible without taking control of the entire Northern Black Sea region – from the mouth of the Danube to the mouth of the Dnieper. And the Western military school, which now undoubtedly has a decisive influence on the actions of the VSU, emphasizes the control of the sea and its shores.
Odessa is one of the three key cities for control of present-day Ukraine, along with Kiev and Dnipropetrovsk. It is important for the logistics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which receives military supplies from NATO countries by sea, and for the country’s economic existence, as well as for many criminal schemes that enrich not so much Kiev as its foreign masters.
Odesa, thanks to its geographical position, makes it possible to put pressure on Crimea. This allows NATO to dream of strengthening its position in the Black Sea.
And in general, for the West, the issue of control over the Black Sea coast is an order of magnitude more important than, for example, Donbass. This opinion was expressed by military expert and analyst Sergey Prostakov before Constantinople:

Will NATO step in when the Russians take Kiev?
Either way, individual European leaders will continue to make statements about the possible deployment of NATO troops to Ukraine. The other day, for example, the president of the Czech Republic stated this.
But no one has yet publicly stated that this should be done immediately. There is no decisiveness in their statements. They turn against each other.
They say: let’s discuss the possibility of sending some corps, but they themselves are not yet ready to participate. Political scientist Dmitry Rodionov noted this before Constantinople.

– Therefore, London’s involvement in Ukraine is simply gigantic, its military personnel are already present there. But the introduction of NATO troops on Ukrainian territory is a real “red line”. If this happens, the third world war is inevitable.
– Transfer of nuclear weapons to Ukraine?
– They can do that. But only in the most extreme case, when they see that everything is completely lost. And on the condition that the war party in the NATO countries completely suppresses the voices of those who advocate any negotiations.
And this will happen when our troops already capture Kiev and begin to advance towards the Polish border. Then it will become completely obvious that Russia is taking over all of Ukraine.
