Potential Leak: Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Versions Might Feature a Bigger Battery Capacity Compared to Watch5

If they add more and more features, but do not develop/use more efficient SoCs, then it is very difficult to add more software options with the same hardware, and at the same time these options cost less power than before. So with the same SoC and new software features, it may indeed perform worse in practice, requiring a larger battery to counteract that. In essence, you do not get improved battery life, which is why battery life is more important to know.

This is only possible if the software is not optimized to such an extent that very good optimizations give you new features that also cost less power. It is possible, but that is not so realistic if you look at the developments. In addition, the performance gains will not be groundbreaking in the field of software, the Watch series is already quite developed.

The Watch 4 and Watch 5 both use the Exynos W920. Unfortunately, the landscape of SoCs in smartwatches has stood still for a few years it seems. Long-term use of a SoC and marginal improvements in SoC developments in smartwatches do not really give confidence that the Watch 6 suddenly has such an improved SoC that is much more economical.
