Postponement of Concerts at Damascus Opera House Out of Respect for Homs Attack Victims

The Syrian Ministry of Culture and the “Al-Assad House for Culture and Arts” announced the postponement of all concerts at the Damascus Opera House until a date to be determined later, out of respect for the souls of the martyrs after the recent attack in Homs.

The artist, Abeer Nehme, posted the news of the postponement of the two evenings that she was going to perform in Damascus on Monday and Tuesday of October, through her official Instagram account, and expressed her condolences to the Syrian people, saying: “My deepest condolences to all the Syrian people on this painful affliction. May God have mercy on the souls of the martyrs of Homs.”

Nima had expressed her gratitude and enthusiasm for meeting the Syrian public, saying in an audio recording to “An-Nahar”: “No words can express it. Today I woke up to pictures, videos, and calls telling me that thousands of people were coming early to buy tickets for the Opera House concert. This is the great love that reaches me from Syria.” “I will carry him in my heart all my life.”

She continued: “Given this great demand, we decided with the Opera House and Maestro Andre Maalouli to announce an additional evening in which the tickets also sold out very quickly,” adding: “I am excited with much love and awaiting the moment when I will meet the Syrian audience.”
