The League Football Association (LFA) postponed Saturday’s match of the 17th round of the top competition between České Budějovice and Hradec Králové. After intense snowfall, the playing surface at the stadium on Strělecké ostrov is unusable. LFA informed about this in a press release. The replacement date will be determined in the coming days.
“After Thursday’s intense snowfall, which continued throughout Friday, the referee delegated by the referees’ committee declared the playing surface unfit despite the fact that the home club had the heating system of the pitch running according to the regulations,” said the LFA, according to which there would be only minimal hope of improvement condition of the lawn.

Last November, the match between České Budějovice and Hradec Králové in the round of 16 of the domestic cup was also postponed due to snow and an unsuitable pitch. At that time, the opponents played in the replacement period at the beginning of this February, the South Bohemians won 2:0.
This is the second postponed match in the current league season. Due to participation in the final 4th preliminary round of the European Conference League, Viktoria Plzeň used the opportunity not to play the August duel of the 6th round in Mladá Boleslav. The substitute date for this match is Wednesday, December 6.
