CONAKRY- The ordinary general assembly devoted to the election of the future executive committee of the Guinean football federation was held this Saturday, November 25 in Conakry. Unfortunately, and unsurprisingly, the elections were postponed for 24 hours due to lack of a quorum, after the boycott of the statutory members gathered within the G47.
The election will take place this Sunday as stipulated in article 27 of the electoral code. And if a favorable outcome is not found at the end, the congress will be permanently suspended. If this were the case, Guinea would be at great risk, especially since the mandate of the Standardization Committee will officially end on November 30. And we learn that it will no longer be extended, and another CONOR could be installed. Could Guinea be excluded from international competitions with this crisis which is still shaking its football? Can Syli’s place be threatened less than 2 months before the African Cup in Ivory Coast?
These hypotheses should be taken very seriously according to several observers who advocate that the different parties involved in the electoral process come to an agreement in order to avoid any inconvenience in the country. The involvement of the transition authorities, particularly Prime Minister Doctor Bernad Goumou, could prove essential.
