In the battle for personnel, PostNL is reaching for permanent contracts. At present, more than a thousand mail deliverers work with a temporary contract. They all have more stability. The same goes for new postmen.

“With the prospect of a permanent contract, we also hope to be able to enthuse new postal deliverers to come and work with us. This is much needed in the current tight labor market,” says Bob van Ireland, postal director at PostNL.

Until now, postal deliverers were only offered a permanent contract after seven months. “We are taking this step as a token of appreciation and confidence towards all colleagues who are committed to postal delivery every day,” says Van Ireland.

At the postal company at the moment over 1500 vacancies open, of which 1070 are for postmen.

In June, PostNL also raised wages for the nearly 16,500 postal deliverers. New deliverers also receive a bonus of 250 euros in areas where the shortage is greatest.
