Solingen (North Rhine-Westphalia) – Issa al Hasan attacked innocent people at a festival with a knife. He killed three people and injured eight others. The terrorist organization Islamic State (IS) has released a video claiming responsibility for the attack. Is the video real? It is not yet clear.
But now it turns out: At least part of the video actually seems to have been filmed in Solingen.
The IS confession video

The alleged IS confession video, which appeared on Sunday evening, consists of three sections. In the first section, a man who calls himself Samarkand A. stands masked in front of the camera.
It is currently unclear whether this is the Solingen terrorist Issa al Hasan. Only the man’s eyes are visible. His face is covered by cloths that resemble tea towels. In Arabic, he swears an oath of loyalty to the leader of IS and addresses him with the title “Emir”.
In the second part, the person is outside – trees can be seen in the background. This time, the person is pixelated. In this sequence, he asks his parents for forgiveness.

How “Welt“ reports, a poster just like the one in the video hangs on the wall of a parking garage on Goerdelerstrasse in Solingen (North Rhine-Westphalia). At a height of around eight metres, you can see the advertising poster of a company advertising its outdoor advertising. Blue background, with two sentences in yellow and white lettering: “The naked truth…”.

In the third clip of the video, a blue poster can be seen behind the pixelated person, says Welt. The video shows the poster upside down. However, the beginnings of two words can be seen: “Die…” and “Wa..:”. They match the advertising slogan on the poster in Solingen.
“The colors, typography, word order and text are identical. It is dark in the video, and the person says in Arabic at this moment: ‘Peace be with you’,” the report says. There are also surveillance cameras on the wall. The poster could be proof that the video actually shows Issa Al Hassan can be seen.
