PostCovid NL is today launching the awareness campaign Understanding helps | PostCovid NL

PostCovid NL starts the awareness campaign today Understanding helps. A national campaign that calls for an understanding of the invisible limits that post-covid has caused. Of the two hundred signs that may occur post-covid, we highlight the two most common in the campaign: one lack of energy and a lack of understanding. Lack of energy, like most other symptoms (think brain fog, dizziness, palpitations, PEM and POTS), can’t be seen on the outside. And you can’t understand what you can’t see. And people with post-covid are suffering from this. No less than 83% of our supporters state: “People can’t tell I’m sick.” That is why with this campaign we are making the invisible visible and providing tools for greater understanding. Because understanding helps.

The campaign is aimed at society as a whole, and also specifically at the social environment of people with post-covid. Will you participate? We have four resources that you can use yourself. We share the above on social media video with the clear, short message: Understanding helps. Share this video with those around you! We reach others by using a shorter version of the video as an ad. In the video you can see these people a pin spending The enamel pin shows a dying battery symbol, in red. This allows you to make your invisible boundaries visible. Or, if you’re not post-covid yourself, show your support and understanding! In addition, patients can Cards app share easily online with their social environment. There are short texts that simply explain what it means to suffer from a post-covid symptom and gently explain how the environment can deal with it. Finally, these campaign statements lead to three recommendations to better understand people post-covid.

The campaign was initiated and led by PostCovid NL and experienced experts. Sjoukje Kastelein (expert and project team member): “We have been involved in every step, including everything; this model looks better, an additional card is needed for people with severe POTS, this text needs to be changed. The rest of the team must have sighed deeply. We wanted to make sure the campaign is inviting and relevant to as many people as possible. A real help in telling their own story, and an inspiration for more understanding to those around them. We are very happy with what we have achieved together and we hope that there will soon be good conversations about this great disease in many living rooms.”

The video can be seen for three months in various formats via Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube. Of course the pin, App cards and special tips will be available for free.

Can you help share the video, pin, App cards and tips? Don’t forget this: #understandinghelps

We collaborated with the campaign group Studio Fik.
