He won almost three million euros. But Cees Stoll (76) can’t enjoy his prize. It’s a roller coaster for him. “You all have people who want to take advantage of you,” he tells NH news…
Early last year Cees lost his wife and became a millionaire by the end of the year. After his wife died, Stoll discovered after fifty years of marriage that she had left her husband in debt. As a result, the postcode lottery millionaire had to pay back every penny for his profit to pay off his debts.
Too late
On December 24, he paid off everything. “Everything has been done and paid for. So you think you have a good life and then such a fate actually comes as a good future but it comes too late. You can’t have fun with your wife anymore, you’re alone, your dog is dead,” Stoll said.
Banks, security firms, people who want money, and neighbors – they all come knocking on Cees’ door and it drives him crazy. Readily get someone from the bank who wants to broker and manage your money. People who have youth have come to ask me if I want to give anything. All that kind of stuff. It’s useless. Yesterday I didn’t eat all day because I couldn’t. I didn’t eat a meatball until half past two in the morning.
Facilitator Winner
All Postcodekanjer winners will meet on January 17 to talk to a so-called winner supervisor and Stoll is looking forward to it. The brand new millionaire believes that the lottery organization has the best for him and the winners.
“It’s very sweet how you take care of yourself. The postcode lottery is doing great, but the people around it are making a fuss of it. It’s not cute at all. I still don’t feel the joy. It will come naturally, the convenience of money is wonderful,” Stoll says.
