Post Trauma will very much feel like a 90s survival horror movie: “We won’t say it outside”

Inspired by ’90s horror games, especially Silent Hill, Post Trauma launches this Halloween and may be a must for fans of the genre, especially if you’re up for an old-school challenge.

At Gamescom we had the pleasure of speaking with Roberto Serra, director of Red Soul Games, a Spanish team that aims to recapture some of the classic tension of the genre, making us feel vulnerable and forced to use our wisdom rather than our strength. to live in this other dimension.

“He wakes up in another place and has to find a way home. On the way there he meets other people who are trapped in this place, which is a real place. “It’s not like get there Endgame, oh, it was a dream. No, this is a real place.

Post Trauma will be like an escape room: ‘We like the idea of players getting lost’

It’s also a place where something changes when you play the game and it feels very alive, so players have to pay attention to the environment and details: “We don’t say it out loud, but we’ll show you them, so you. you have to take care Clear everything.

Serra sees these levels as big escape rooms, so you won’t be carrying a map around. Instead, there are maps on the walls. But since the map is not particularly large, you will be able to remember them. “We like the idea that players can get lost, but only for two minutes, and then they get to know the place and their way around.

And, like most escape rooms, you’ll move on to another location once you’ve solved the puzzles, so there aren’t many backlogs. There won’t be much action either, but there are no checkpoints, so you have to be careful: on normal difficulty you can save (manually) what you want, but on hard difficulty you will need tapes (you save radios , which is good for Suggestion on the ink you need to save in your typewriter (Resident Evil game).

The best part is, we don’t have to wait too much longer, as Post Trauma will be released on Steam on October 29th. You can watch our full interview below.
