Monday, the 12th, the last day of the Lunar New Year holiday, will be mostly clear across the country, but the fine dust concentration is expected to be ‘bad’. There is thick fog in the morning, so be careful about traffic safety.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the lowest temperature this morning is expected to drop to -8 to 1 degrees, especially in the central region and southern inland, to around -5 degrees. It will be cold in the Gangwon Mountains and Gyeongbuk Mountains, where a cold wave advisory is in effect, with temperatures dropping below -10 degrees.
Also, from dawn to morning, there will be places where there will be thick fog with a visibility of less than 200m, mainly in the southern Gyeonggi region, southern Gangwon inland, Chungcheong region, Jeolla region, and northern Gyeongbuk inland. There may also be fog in other areas with a visibility of less than 1 km.
With morning temperatures falling below freezing, fog may freeze on the ground and thin ice may appear. The Korea Meteorological Administration requested that vehicles be driven at a reduced speed to prevent damage such as collisions.
Starting this day, temperatures in most parts of the country are expected to rise above 10 degrees as warm southwest winds flow in along the edge of a high pressure area located in the southern seas.
The expected lowest temperatures in major cities are △Seoul -2 degrees △Incheon -3 degrees △Chuncheon -6 degrees △Gangneung -3 degrees △Daejeon -4 degrees △Daegu -2 degrees △Jeonju -2 degrees △Gwangju -1 degrees △Busan 1 degrees △It is the 5th island of Jeju.
The expected daytime highest temperature is △Seoul 9 degrees △Incheon 8 degrees △Chuncheon 8 degrees △Gangneung 11 degrees △Daejeon 11 degrees △Daegu 12 degrees △Jeonju 12 degrees △Gwangju 13 degrees △Busan 12 degrees △Jeju 14 degrees.
There will be places with strong winds of more than 55 km/h centered on Yeongdong, Gangwon and the east coast of Gyeongbuk, so be careful about facility management and safety accidents.
The Korea Meteorological Administration also predicted that between the night before and the morning of this day, winds would blow strongly at 30 to 45 km per hour in the East Sea, South Sea, and Jeju Island, and waves would rise as high as 1.0 to 3.0 m. Accordingly, we requested that vessels sailing or fishing and users of marine transportation be careful.
Fine dust concentration is expected to be ‘bad’ in all regions. The southern part of Gyeonggi Province is expected to temporarily be at the ‘very bad’ level in the morning.
