Starfield is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games of 2023, but the lack of an official release date continues to fuel debate about how much longer we’ll have to wait. For this reason, users drew attention to the date that appeared on the GOG Galaxy website – the release of the game is scheduled for June 29, 2023. But most likely it’s just a convention.
As seen in the screenshot posted below from Tyler McVicker’s Twitter account, in the GOG Galaxy interface that leads to the GOG Store and beyond, Starfield has an official page with a release date set for June 29, 2023.
It is likely that this is the so-called placeholder, i.e. an estimated or possible date that has been posted until the real one is known, but it should be added that this is in line with other rumors that the game will release this month.
Even Windows Central journalist Jez Corden, in just the last few days, has reported a real possibility of Starfield appearing by the end of June, which would also be in line with Microsoft’s official statements listing a Bethesda game as one of the games for the first half of 2023, at least least, according to what was reported during the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase in June 2022.
In fact, there is still no official information on the matter, and all we know is that Xbox and Bethesda are planning a special event entirely dedicated to Starfield.
