Possible racing on national highway 7 – two cars measured at 172 km/h 80 zone
The police give a clear message after three young drivers lost their license plate after rough driving on national highway 7 in Gol around midnight.
– It is not good. I am not going to conclude, but here we are probably talking about three people who will be without their driver’s license for a long time, operations manager Jan Kristian Johnsrud in the Søreast police district tells NTB.
Three young drivers were stopped in a laser check on national highway 7 in Gol around midnight. Two of the drivers were measured at 172 kilometers per hour, while the last of the drivers was measured at 131 kilometers per hour. The measurement took place in the 80 zone.
– We don’t know what happened, but it could be racing. Everyone can expect a serious reaction, says the operations manager.
The operations manager goes on to say that the two fastest drivers were both within the probationary period on their licence, which is two years.
– Unfortunately, there has been a trend of a lot of ugly driving lately. Not only here, but also in other police districts. National highway 7 is an accident-prone section, and we will continue with checks here, says Johnsrud.
