Last Saturday around 230 people celebrated in the popular Frauenfeld bar “Peggy’s”. Among them was a partygoer who had the corona virus. At this point, however, he didn’t know anything about it. According to information from the “Thurgauer Zeitung”, he only found out about the positive corona test days later.
As a precautionary measure, all 230 guests who were in the bar that evening were contacted. However, they do not have to be quarantined for the time being – unless they show symptoms. The situation for the bar staff is completely different: All employees who were on duty on Saturday were sent to quarantine. “Everyone is doing well and no one has shown symptoms so far,” says the “Peggy’s” Facebook page.
The bar should continue to operate despite the positive Corona case. After consultation with the Thurgau canton doctor, the restaurant was cleaned and disinfected.
The Thurgau government councilor Urs Martin has not yet been able to say whether the incident in question is a so-called superspreader event. The contact tracers are now trying to find out. It had superspreader events in the last few weeks given several times in Zurich clubs.
From Friday applies to Thurgau bars and clubs require identification.
