Patricia Aguayo Bernal, self-proclaimed spokesperson for the workers of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (PJF), affirmed that the rapprochement of the president of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), Norma Piña Hernández with the president of the Senate, Gerardo Fernández Noroña, is a positive signal to advance in the dialogues on Judicial Reform.
He even said that hopefully these positive signs will lead to greater benefits for everyone, both for the Legislative and Judicial Branches.
“Persons of that investiture, such as Fernández Noroña or Senator Adán Augusto, come to have a rapprochement and a conversation with the President of the Court, it is a different understanding. What they announced is a dialogue, an openness that never existed with ( former president Andrés Manuel) López Obrador. Today I think we are in a different situation, let’s hope so. We must be attentive to new signs that may arise.”
He recalled that that first sign was the greeting between President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and Norma Piña at the inauguration, “I think that was a first sign of openness. Yesterday we had a new sign, now from Senator Fernández Noroña himself, of dialogue. We are going to be on the lookout to see what other signs we get, but I think they are readings of good things.”
The PJF workers are protesting again at the CJF headquarters, located in Insurgentes Sur, where the plenary session will meet if it extends the suspension of activities that expires on Friday, October 11.
He also denied that the CJF has turned its back on the process of defending his labor rights; on the contrary, he said that he has been very sensitive to the requests that have been made to him at the work tables held in previous days.
He added that the main “fear” of the workers is that the implementation of the Judicial Reform does advance and a new administration takes over the organization of the CJF, “we do not know on what terms we are going to be. We do not know if they will respect our work relations, benefits of work, if they are going to respect salaries, seniority, there are many points that have been presented to the Council. They have the best opportunity to resolve what is in their hands, but they also explained to us that it has an expiration date, they have one year to resolve. implement all these aspects and are very carefully analyzing all the points that we have presented in the work and dialogue tables.
