FAGAGNA. Yesterday, due to a delay in data recording, ten deaths occurred between 18 and 30 November at the Zaffiro retirement home in Fagagna, as shown by the communications of the Region. No comments on the internal situation of the structure by the management and the CEO of Zaffiro.
“I confirm, from the data held by the registry office, verified today Thursday, December 3, that there were ten deaths in the Zaffiro residence for the elderly – declares the mayor of Fagagna Daniele Chiarvesio -. I express my closeness and that of the whole municipal administration to the relatives of the deceased in an extremely complex moment in which family members could not be physically close to their loved ones. I hope that the situation can return to normal as soon as possible. I am also close to all the operators of the facility who at this moment are doing their utmost to guarantee health care for guests, trying to maintain contact with family members. We have continuous contact with the management to constantly check the general situation of the guests and staff involved in the epidemic. On 25 November last in the city council – adds Chiarvesio – the councilors were given the Covid contagion situation on the basis of the data officially received by the mayor ».
«It is disconcerting to learn of such a serious situation without having any official communication from the structure and the competent bodies – comments the group leader of Voliamo Insieme, Leandro Bertuzzi -. The rumors that have been circulating in Fagagna for some time and that we, with concern, had collected and brought to public attention are confirmed. There remains therefore a great apprehension for the evolution of the facts ». The director of Proposal for Fagagna Gianluigi D’Orlandi is also worried: “I am shocked by the fact that the virus has spread to the Zaffiro in such a virulent and nefarious way – he comments -, we will have to learn for the future the application of very strict protocols because in these places there are particularly fragile people. The events that occurred in many nursing homes must stimulate the regional administration to issue operational directives to prevent what is happening ». Raffaella Sialino, leader of the “Lega Salvini” group finally expressed “closeness and solidarity to the families affected by the grief and to the personnel who must operate in this emergency situation”. –
