An American teacher who was on her way to Iceland learned in mid-flight that she was positive for Covid-19. To protect the other passengers, she isolated herself for several hours
On December 20, Marisa Fotieo, an American teacher, had to drastically reduce her flight comfort. While on a plane to Iceland, the applicant discovered that she had contracted Covid-19. In order not to infect the other passengers, she isolated herself in the toilet for five hours.
As reported by the “Huffington Post”, the young woman felt pain in the throat in the middle of her flight from Chicago to Reykjavik. She used a rapid test kit and thus found out that she was positive.
A “VIP quarantine”
The American explained her decision on NBC Today. “There were 150 people on the plane and my biggest fear was infecting them. On the TikTok social network, she documented her isolation. We can see her in particular with two masks on her nose.
According to her, a “crazy experience” transformed into a “VIP quarantine” by the flight attendants of the Icelandair company. Marisa Fotieo says one of them, nicknamed “Rocky”, made sure she had everything she needed, “from food to drinks”. She even “brought flowers” to him in the hotel where she was confined for several days.
