E-bikes were also used extensively in the corona year
In the eleventh season of “e-Bike Widnau”, the 15 e-bikes were again heavily used. Due to Corona, however, they could only be rented between June and October.
The occupancy rate during the summer months was very good. During the 84 days (previous year: 140 days) 12,799 kilometers (previous year: 14,547 kilometers) were covered. That corresponds to the distance from Widnau to New York and back. “The figures show: E-bikes are still fun,” says the community of Widnau.
Temporary waiver of fees for village associations
The current lockdown light is difficult and drastic for the clubs. The municipal council has decided to waive the fees for the use of sports halls, gyms and sports facilities for the winter semester 2020/2021 or until April 25th à fonds perdu.
This date for the fee cancellation is fixed, even if the corona measures are relaxed earlier. For bookings from April 25th, pandemic-related cancellations according to BAG regulations will not have any cost consequences for the clubs. The community hopes that this solution will give the clubs financial planning security and help them to cope with the very challenging situation for the club’s activities as a result of the coronavirus protective measures.
