Posila Dynamo Zbořil explains how Kometa was rejected: I had to bite myself that I will not return home – Sport.cz

“We sat down (with Dynamo’s management), the requirements went to me, the conditions were explained to me and everything fit. Pardubice is a club with the highest ambitions – for this season, the next and many years ahead,” said the 27-year-old Kometa trainer in an interview for the Pardubice club’s video channel.

It was Dynamo’s intentions, the sports side, and perhaps a better salary assessment, that decided that Zbořil gave a basket to the parent company Brno unexpectedly. At the same time, the head of Kometa Libor Zábranský paid a lot for the services of the partner of the World Cup 2023.

“I didn’t talk to anyone about my decision, I didn’t tell anyone. I wanted to keep things under wraps as much as possible. I had to convince him that I would not return home, where I grew up, but that I would go to strengthen Dynamo. I’m really looking forward to it,” explained Zbořil, who met many familiar faces in the Pardubice locker room, including another Kometa protégé (a year younger) full-back Libor Hájek.

“Libor and I grew up, we’ve known each other since I was two years old. I look forward to further cooperation. Everyone was very welcome,” says Zbořil, who describes himself as a two-way defender.

“I come from a good defensive background, which is first for me. But I am happy to support the attack as well, and I am now set in my head in such a way that I will try to be everywhere to help as much as I can. I will try to say something in the locker room if necessary,” thinks Zbořil, who has played 18 more league games so far when he started for Kometa in the 2020/21 season during covid.

“At that time I started in Pardubice and I played very well here. I hope it hasn’t changed at all,” he begs before his debut in the Pardubice jersey, which should already come on Tuesday against Mladá Boleslav.

He has the respect of the rest of the league, his quality has reportedly increased in recent years. “Outside hockey looks great on TV at the moment. And the guys who have come back to him have told me that his level has gone up a lot in the last two years,” he shakes his head.
