On February 29, the deadline for connecting the POS to the cash registers expires. The Ministry of National Economy, in order to speed up the interconnection procedures, promotes three-speed fines for POS (installation, interconnection and software).
If the deadline of 29 February for the interface of cash registers and POS is not changed the new fines will be activated from 1 March.
An amendment and a ministerial decision are to be finalized this week, which will define three different categories of fines.
THE first class of fines concerns those who do not connect their cash registers and terminals in time. These are the old POS terminal obligees before the expansion to the 35 new branches from the beginning of the year, for which the interconnection deadline expires on February 29.
According to information, the pending ministerial decision introduces fines of 10,000 euros for debtors who keep single-entry books and 30,000 euros for debtors with double-entry books.
At second classwhich concerns providers who will not upgrade their software by the deadline (February 29), the penalties are even more severe according to ERT.
The late software upgrade penalty for providers starts from 200,000 euros and reaches 300,000 euros in case of relapse.
The 35 provider companies have received the message from the Ministry of Health in time, so that there are no excuses for technical issues.
THE third category of fines concerns the 35 new sectors to which the obligation to use POS was extended, including kiosks, taxis, lay and insurance agents.
The POS acquisition deadline has been extended to February 29 with the provision that no fines will be imposed until the end of March if it has been collected but not installed. From April 1, however, non-installation of POS in the 35 new branches is pregnant a fine of 1,500 eurosto be followed by the multiple penalty of non-interconnection.
