The Portuguese under-19 roller hockey team beat Austria 19-0 this Tuesday, consolidating its leadership in Group A of the European Championship for the category, whose final phase takes place in Seedorf, Switzerland.
In a one-way game, in the second round of the competition, the team from the corners arrived at half-time leading 11-0, extending the rout in the second half, to which Martim Costa made the biggest contribution, by scoring four goals.
Gonçalo Filipe and Diogo Lemos, with three goals each, Paulo Pereira, Guilherme Azevedo, Henrique Vigário, Vítor Oliveira, who scored twice, and João Pereira scored the remaining goals for the national team.
Portugal, the reigning European champions, who had beaten England 13-1 in the opening round, will face Switzerland on Wednesday, in the third and final group game, and should progress to the quarter-finals as group winners.
